About

There You Are

Come on in.

It’s a little chilly outside, isn’t it?

The heater’s going, there’s a blanket somewhere around here, and I’m pretty sure we still have your favorite mug.

Go ahead and get comfortable. I’ll put the kettle on.

I suppose, since we’re sitting here together, I should tell you a little about why this place exists.

You see, I’ve always loved the kind of conversations that wander through seventeen different subjects before either person remembers what started them.

The ones where you can laugh about something ridiculous one minute and talk about something weighing on your heart the next.

The ones where nobody’s watching the clock, nobody’s trying to impress anyone, and you don’t have to think twice before asking a question.

I think we need more places like that.

Places where we can talk about Jesus and everyday life without feeling like those conversations have to happen separately.

Where we can open our Bibles and try to understand something we’ve read a hundred times but still have questions about.

Where we can share stories, celebrate the good things, admit when life is hard, and occasionally laugh at something that probably wasn’t even that funny to begin with.

That’s what I hope this little corner of the world can be.

A place to sit for a while.

A place to be encouraged.

A place where you don’t have to have everything figured out before you pull up a chair.

But before I tell you anything else about this place, there’s something I want you to know.

This isn’t my table.

It’s not a place where I sit at the head and decide who belongs.

Jesus is the reason we’re here.

I’m simply another person learning to follow Him, hoping we can encourage each other along the way.

I don’t have all the answers. I don’t always understand Scripture the first time I read it. And sometimes I have to go back and ask God to help me understand what He’s trying to teach me.

So if you’re still figuring things out, you’re in good company.

And if you’re having a difficult day, you don’t have to pretend otherwise.

There’s room for that here, too.

A Promise From My Side of The Table

I don’t know what you’ve been carrying lately.

Maybe you’ve got something wonderful to celebrate. Maybe you’re struggling with questions you haven’t felt comfortable asking anywhere else. Maybe someone who claimed to represent Jesus made you feel like you weren’t good enough.

Whatever brought you here, I want you to know something.

I will never intentionally use my words to make you feel small.

I won’t assume you understand every Bible verse, and I won’t pretend to understand things I haven’t learned yet.

I believe Scripture is worth understanding, not just quoting.

I believe questions deserve thoughtful answers, not embarrassment.

And I believe we can talk about difficult things without forgetting there’s a real person on the other side of the conversation.

I can’t promise I’ll always get everything right.

But I can promise to keep trying to speak with kindness, honesty, and grace.

Because if my words are going to point someone toward Jesus, I want them to reflect the love I’ve found in Him.

Not shame.

Not superiority.

Not the feeling that you have to become someone different before you’re worthy of being heard.

You don’t have to understand everything to belong here.

Neither do I.

And maybe that’s something we can work on together.

There’s room for questions at this table, too. ♡

Anyway, Where were we?

Right.

I was telling you how glad I am that you’re here.

We can talk about Jesus. We can share stories. We can laugh at something ridiculous. We can pray together.

Or we can sit quietly and enjoy the warmth for a while.

There’s no agenda.

There’s no spotlight.

And nobody’s waiting for you to prove you belong.

Your chair is right where you left it.

I’m glad you’re back. ♡
